"The turning point in bilateral relations between China and Japan was the obstinate Japanese attempt to purchase the Diaoyu Islands in 2012. Despite the improved ties within the past two years, Japan's new military spending is highly likely to result in amendment of the "Peace" Constitution with significant influence on the world order and threatening the peace and stability of Asia as well as the rest of the world. Moreover, Japanese media outlets should stop skewing the reality of China and the Chinese media should distribute more reports in Japanese to present a true and objective scenario of China to their neighbors."

-Zhao Qizheng, Dean of the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China and Binhai Development Institute of Nankai University
